China Submarine Cable Construction Co., Ltd. (hereinafter called “CSCC”) was established in January, 1977 with the approval by the State Council, specializing in design, construction and maintenance. And in 2008, it was reformed to a subsidiary company of China Telecom Corporation Limited. CSCC possesses the certificate of prime contractor of construction Class B, the certificate of design Class B in the line of communications engineering, the certificate of specialized contractor of construction Class C in the line of electrical power engineering and the certificate of integration Class B in the line of Communication Information Network issued by the Construction Ministry of the People’s Republic of China. CSSS has recently obtained the Certificate of Foreign Economy Co-management Company approved by Foreign Economy and Trade Ministry of the People’s Republic of China. CSCC had gained ISO 9001:2000, ISO14001, OHSMS18000 quality management system certificate.

As an unique enterprise, CSCC has an complete set of project management system, quality assurance system as well as maintenance safeguard system, and is mainly engaged in design, construction and maintenance for variety of communication network engineering, such as submarine cable system, submarine power cable system, etc.

CSCC possesses a large number of technical and managerial staff with update technology and strong devotional spirit in project technology & management and construction & maintenance. Among the staff of CSCC, 60% are senior engineers and engineers, 70% have qualified engineering project managers certificate and engineering quality certificate issued by the Construction Ministry of the People’s Republic of China. 50% of senior engineers and engineers were trained abroad on fiber optic cable jointing, finally got the certificates. Equipped with advanced cable ships capable of burying cable up to 3.5 meters depth, and with advanced construction machines & equipments as well as testing instruments necessary for communications and electrical power engineering, such as several giant Horizontal Directional drill(HDD) machine . The company has participated thousands of large size and small size engineering projects since the establishment of CSCC, including submarine cable project, communications duct construction, wireless communications project, HDD project, as well as urgent repair for those projects mentioned above.

In recently years, the company has participated the construction of SMW3 Cable System, China-US Cable System, FLAG Cable System, APCN2 Cable System, C2C Cable System, EAC2 Cable System and TPE Cable System. Through practice of close cooperation with foreign companies, such as TYCO, Alcatel, NEC, Fujitsu for several years, the company has received good reputation and trust from those foreign companies for its high quality, overall management and best service.
Besides the engineering construction, CSCC also undertakes the maintenance of 10 international submarine cable systems in Shanghai and 10 domestic under-river cables with a full set of radar system. Advanced Radar Position System and Global Position System are adopted for the cable maintenance, so as to assure the cable safety.
